Event Organisation Revisited

Chair: Claire Lotion

The KDE community organises events such as booth presence, small-scale developer meetings and our yearly conference aKademy. People repeatedly re-learn the lessons that previous organisers have made and duplicate a lot of work. Unfortunately, this is a time-consuming and sometimes frustrating process, which may discourage many a volunteer from embarking on such an endeavour. This presentation addresses means to attain a less steep learning curve and to streamline your workflow.

Furthermore, a KDE-based event organisation project is introduced, which is aimed at reducing the effort of creating and maintaining event-specific documentation and tools. It is meant to provide the basis for turn-key solutions for event organisation by combining the necessary guidelines, collaboration infrastructures, common event resources and materials. Your feedback and suggestions for further improvements to the framework are more then welcome, so it can and will be used by you to efficiently organise successfull events.
