KDE Matchmaker

Chair: Claire Lotion

Research and development are integral aspects of the KDE project. Key aspects of the KDE innovation model are its dauntlessness, openess, critical peer-review and multidisciplinary collaboration. Unfortunately, many of the sub-projects that may be eligible to enter a funding programme miss this opportunity of building stronger relationships with parties outside of the KDE community and acquiring financial resources.

The main reasons for this are probably a lack of awareness of that there are funding and collaboration opportunities, and the lack of time and resources to deal with negotiations and piles of required paperwork. KDE Research is an initiative aimed at providing a supporting coordination platform that assists existing and aspiring KDE researchers to prepare project propoasals and execute possibly funded research projects in collaboration with community and industry partners. Part of its task will be to keep track of funding opportunities and research projects, and to match research partners.
