WebKit and KDE

Speaker: Lars Knoll

Since KDE 2 times, KDE has had it's own HTML rendering library, khtml. This library was later takes by Apple as a basis for their Safari browser. Since Summer of 2005, Apple is now developing their code base in an open source project called WebKit. A few people have been working on a Qt4 port of WebKit in the last months. The talk will start with a short overview over the history of both KHTML and WebKit. After that focus is on the current status of the Qt port, remaining issues, the cooperation with Apple and the possibility of using WebKit as the HTML rendering component for KDE 4.
